Common parts sorting in Creo

Hi all,

I have inside my working directory over 30 different assemblies with common parts, and one assembly counts over 300 parts. Unfortunately in our company we dont use PDM such is IntraLink or Windchill for now, and some problems occurred.

I need to make a list of those common parts, and now question: how to do it using Creo ? I started to do BOM list and importing into Excel, and there I'm filtering items. But this procces takes a lot of time.

I solved common parts (spare parts) such as screws and nuts through family table, and I´ve re-inserted them in to assemblies. And now I have full control over spare parts.

I can open all 30 assemblies and I tried to do something in session, like coloring one component to have preview on others similar components, but without wanted success.

Any suggestions ?

Now we have PDM Windchill, and maybe I´ll put question related to PTC Windchill topic to avoid asking two issues here.
