Need help resolving feature error in Creo Parametric 1.0

I'm working on an assembly model and have a yellow warning icon displayed on the information bar at the bottom of my session window.  When I click the icon to regen the model, the regen manager states that everything has regenerated but I also get an error message that states:

 

"Errors in My models XXXX.asm

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

!*** ERR: feat 206 breaks group starting with feat 25043"

 

My question is; how do I identify what "feat 206" is so that I can begin to resolve this error?  I've tried using the search tool, but get no results searching for features which contain 206.  I've tried the help files for ideas how to identify the problem.  Now I'm turning to more experienced users than myself for help with this tool.

superscript/subscript variable in note string (?)

Creo 2.0 M040.

 

I'm having trouble formatting a note using a variable within the superscript/subscript delimiters.

 

If this a new bug or am I missing something here?

 

part relation: test=10

part annotation note: &test     return "10"

part annotation note: test@+&test@#      returns "test(superscript)&test"

 

I put in a support case but I know you guys and gals are probably faster with an answer.

 

Particularly interested if this fails in WF or Pro|E

**NEED HELP** What connection to use in Mechanism **LOCK AND KEY**

I have constructed a lock and key assembly with about 20 parts and have most of it working in mechanism so that when the key is entered into the keyhole, the pins move with the key accordingly.

 

This video below is for the sake of visualizing how a lock and key works, it is not of my assembly but is the same idea:

 

 

 

So I am having difficulty having the lower pins (the ones that are between the key and the upper pins) push the upper pins upwards as the key is inserted.  I can make the pins rigid to eachother, but I want to have the lower pins eventually rotate away from the upper pins when the key is turned so making them rigid to eachother will not work. 

 

Basically I want to make a connection between two FLAT surfaces so that when one surface touches the other, it will push it, but is not rigid to it.  I have done this between a 3D surface and flat surface with the "3D contact connection" but have not found a way to do this between two flat surfaces.  I have tried cam connection also but it does not let me do it between two flat surfaces.

 

I attached a picture of the actual assembly with the key inserted into the lock, but in the picture the pins are rigid to eachother and are basically acting as one pin instead of two, I want them to be separate, but when they hit eachother they will move together and not pass through eachother.

 

I hope I have made this clear enough, any help would be really appreciated!

ProNC, Milling..

 

Where can I find the FIXTURES to use in the manufacturing process (models of fixture parts)?

Are they included with wildfire 5 or do I have to install them?

Issue with Product View 9.1

Hi All,

 

I am currently using Pro-e Wildfire 5.0/ Croe- elemenst M150 and product view 9.1

We have an issue that the Proe drawings and the view in the Product view dont match each other.

The issue is mainly with family tables, where the view in Product view is showing dim values from the generic and doesnot show what is there on the Proe drawings(instance drawings, but when we open the instance drawing in Proe it's showing the correct dimesnions)

The product view is behaving in it own way.

Do we have a way to solve the issue ?

Product View question

Hi All

 

I have a problem with ProductView Professional (I don't use ProE, I just use viewer to access models) - there is an option to email current model to someone, but when I click on this nothing happens. I was told that it is because the 3D file exceeds outlook maximum size but it doesn't work with the small files too. A small pop up window appears showing the creation of pvz file but after it is done, nothing happens (see attached file)

 

But ignoring the size of attachement allowed by Exchange server, shouldn't ProductView produce pvz file and place it in the email anyway? And when I send the email THEN exchange tells me that attachment was unsuccessful?

 

I ask as I often have big assemblies and want to save small portions of it. Nothing to do with sending it out to anyone - I just want to create a smaller version of the whole assembly and keep it on my HDD as opposed to loading it every time from the vault. This would take some load of our already slow network but also save me time wasted on hiding parts like packaging, enclosures etc, every time I open an assembly.

 

Saving as iges, stp works but pvz files seem to load much quicker and the only way to produce a pvz file using ProductView is to send the model out as an email attachement.

 

I'd appreciate if anyone could help

CreoView License settings in startup window locked

For one of my users, the license settings are locked and he is unable to change them.  I have not seen that for any other users....why is his locked and how do I change it so that he can update his license setting?

No output after opening STEP file ProE Wildfire 3.0

After succesfully installed the software OS: windows 7 32bit

Software still runs smoothly the only problem is when opening a step file.

there is no output after clicking the "open" button.

 

Can anyone help me how to find out what would be the cause of this problem?

Already checked license file but is seems there are no conflict with licensing.

(Please see attached screen capture: STEP is still included on the import/open selection)

is there any problem with the 64 and 32bit OS, or the compatibility for OS is the problem itself?

I HAVE 4 PRO-E LICENCE. (CREO-element/ PRO-5)

1) I WANT TO OPEN ONE OF THE PRO-E FROM ABOVE

2) AFTER THAT I WANT TO RUN my MAP KEY ( For e.g. Map key name - XYZ )AUTOMATICALLY......... (with the help of BAT file or VBE code)

 

if any one know, then please share your knowledge. it will help me alot. (2nd point is more critical for me)

Loads for simulations

Hi all

i want to know that if i have a mechanism and i want to do its dynamic analysis in creo simulate.Now the only information i have is that of the rpm and power of motors connected with the pinion gears.

From where i should get the forces and loads that is applied to the meshed gears.Whether i should calculate all these forces or torque manually? or there is any other method that can done in the software to avoid manuall calculation.

Mechanism design capabilities

Hi - I have a slider that is intially constrained to linear motion due to guide parts on either side, however this part travels beyond the guides, it also has an internal slot, and there is a fixed pin riding in the slot that because of its length allows the slider to continue to travel linearly but also concurrently rotate about the pin. So my question as an MDO novice is is this type of transition of motions possible, once the moving part as moved passed a physical constraint that initially limits the motion to linear?

Scripting in PRO-E

Hi,

 

Can we use scripts to create geometries in PRO-E ?

 

say i need to create 10 identical cylinders of given diameter and length ...   the task being to position them in space and with a particular orientation , so their position(center of the cylinder) and orientation with x axis are the parameters , i need to code ..

 

can we write a script for this with loops etc ??

can you move created geometry in Creo?

Is there a way to move created features in Creo?

 

It appears you can copy and move items but I'm not seeing how you can just move features to other locations without the copy.

 

If so, can you move all features, even datum planes?

 

I wish this were a little more straight forward in Creo.

PIPE SOLID ISSUE

Hello ALL

I would like some inputs on how you use Pro-Piping with Windchill. It

looks like Pro Piping may have issues with Windchill. When creating a

pipe solid feature pro piping creates a new part to place the solid

feature in. Pro Piping will not use the same part file again to create

solid pipe features in. If pipe solid fails, which they sometimes do

and you ever delete the pipe solid, pro piping will force to create a

new part file number to place the new solid pipe feature in. Windchill

tracks all part names and will not let you create a pipe because part

name is in use. You have to create a new part name. This can be a real

problem for configuration management and drawings! You cannot delete

the pipe solid part from Windchill, if it is on someone's workspace

etc..., deleting a part in Windchill is basically impossible.

 

My question is why does Pro-piping not

just give me a warning, "pipe solid part already exist,

overwrite/update? Yes, No" Any better work around or config options out

there would be appreciated?

 

 

 

I am facinng this issue now, How to replace all that in windchill existing part?



 

Could anyone help with this to fix?

Hello,

 

I have a ProNC turning sequence with 2 toolpaths.

I can play them individuallly with Vericut.

 

How can I play toolpath 1 and toolpath 2 in Vericut in one go?
