REPEAT REGION AND PARAMETRS

Hola a todos. Muy buenas tardes.

Hi all. Good evening.

Tengo una plantilla *.drw con una tabla, y en 2 celdas de la tabla dos regiones de repetición...

I have a template *.drw with a table and 2 repeat regionsin in 2 cells of table.

PARAMETROS_OCULTOS.jpg

Cuando hago un plano nuevo de una instancia (00001_FLAT1 ---> 00001) ... el código "mdl.generic.name" = 00001

Y el código "fam.inst.name" aparece en blanco.

When I do a new drawing of instance (00001_FLAT1 ---> 00001) ... the code "mdl.generic.name" = 00001

And the code "fam.inst.name" is blank.

Hasta aquí todo correcto...

Until far so right ...

Cuando hago un plano nuevo del Genérico 00001... El código "fam.inst.name" = 00001_FLAT1  (OK)

Y el código "mdl.generic.name" = 00001

When I do a new drawing of generic 00001 ... The code "fam.inst.name" = 00001_FLAT1   (OK)

And the code "mdl.generic.name" = 00001

Pero yo quiero el código "mdl.generic.name" esté en blanco... por que ya tengo "&model_name" en otra celda

But I want the code "mdl.generic.name" is blank, because I have "&model_name" in another cell.

Thanks for all.

See you.

FRICTION FINITE IN CREO 3.0

Hola a todos.

Hi all.

He realizado un montage para un analisis de contacto con friccion finita  y un movimiento 7 mm

y cuando creo un analisis y activo contactos, me dice que friccion finita no es viable para desplazamientos pequeños,

I made an assembly to Contact Analysis with finite friction and 7mm of displacement...

And when I develope a new analysis and active contacts, say me that the finite friction is not valid for little displacement.

When I saw for 2mm of displacement

I don't understand

Creo 3 Tapped Hole Visualization?

$

We've been SolidWorks and Inventor and now being corporately directed to ProE/Creo 3.  One of the big things lacking (as far as we can tell) is in Creo there is no visual difference in a shaded model between a plain hole and a tapped hole.  In SolidWorks and Inventor there is a pattern in the interior of the holes in the model that show clearly it's a tapped hole.  In Creo they all look the same.

How can you make a visual model difference between tapped and plain holes in Creo?  (without making it an additional step when creating)

Thanks.

Regenerate after verifying table instances

$

In order to verify the instances of the family table, it is required that the generic have been regenerated (or already have the green dot). Then once the instances in the family table are verified and the family table has been closed the yellow dot shows (seeming like the generic needs to be regenerated again) even though all of the instances within the family table were successfully verified.

Any thoughts on this issue? Are others seeing this?

Thanks, Dale

Creo 3.0 and family table parts.

We have hundreds of made up parts for fasteners, plumbing etc.,  that are family tables (nipple/1-4_npt_blk/5_in layout  format). Just upgraded to 3.0 and  search directory is correct but it is not finding parts(not sure if it is finding the upper level and just not the lower levels). Not only do I have to point to the correct part but open it and click down to the family table instance. This will be very unacceptable with 15 years of assembly models on our server. Any thoughts??

Toggle Layer Tree Display in Creo Parametric 3.0

$

Curious if anyone has figured out how to toggle between the model tree and the layer tree in Creo Parametric 3.0.

We used the following mapkey in WF3 - WF5.  It worked great.

mapkey $F2 @MAPKEY_NAMEDisplay Layer Tree;@MAPKEY_LABELDisplay Layer Tree;\
mapkey(continued) ~ Activate `main_dlg_cur` `ProCmdViewLyrs.view`;

Creo 3 has changed the commands used to display the layer tree.  So far I've been unable to figure out how to make them toggle.  I would prefer to not use two separate mapkeys and/or constantly reload config files with alternate versions of the mapkey.

Thanks!

Map key startup

Short question:
Is there any way to make Creo run a mapkey when opening a file?

how is this still an issue??? (calling all advanced users!) denominator issue

$

so since creo 3.0 every time i use (fraction dimensions) either the diameter dimension (by double clicking on a hole in the drawing) or the arc dimension (again in the drawing) the default denominator is set at 4.

I have logged a case with ptc but now even after 2 new version releases this is still an issue.

this is causing many issues with our entire companies production drawings.

config settings :

dim_fraction_format aisc

create_fraction_dim yes

dim_fraction_denominator 16

grrrrrr.....

if anyone has this same issue i would love to hear from you.

if you have found a fix, or if you can identify something that maybe I have done to cause this, I would love to hear from you.

thank you,

Mass Coordinate rename

$

Using creo 2.0

We use a skeleton system to make our sketches and coordinates, then make our parts based on that skeleton and the placement of the coordinates.

We usually name the coordinates a certain name for said parts we are making.

So instead of the standard cs1, cs2, cs3, it might be test_top_001, test_top_002, test_top_003 etc.

During long hours we skip the name and its kind of biting us in the butt now. We have been trying the Mapkey route to mass rename coordinates in a skeleton, which is A LOT of skeletons and coordinates to certain standards. The issue with that is, during the procedure of the mapkey, you are going to do a CTRL+V to paste the name and change the number to a different value. But once you do that, it puts that into the config, and if you use the map key again, it will use that same name and number you just used.

Example...

"start mapkey - finds coordinate - pauses for a prompt message for you to type in the name you want - the mapkey resumes - mapkey copies name - paste name on next coordinate and changes the number value, rinse and repeat."

At this point, we don't really care how it gets done for the method of naming it.  We would like it to be a prompt that pops up asking you to type the name you want, and then it copies that name and finds the coordinates in a skeleton and renames them with the prompt name, then adds the numerical value.

avoid hidden lines in drawing?

$

Hi everybody,

I am a new user, I have a question about drawing in Creo parametric 2.0:

I re-use old drawings for doing new ones faster, when I open the new drawing there are disconnected dimensions in grey color. Then I do 'edit connection' and click  2 lines of my part,

but sometimes, in this view that is without hidden lines, I take accidentally the hidden line, so the dimension is wrong. I know that the solution is make a 'big' zoom and take the correct line, but is there another solution? Is there some option for ignoring hidden lines?

Other 3D Cad programs, when you hide something in drawing, the system avoid them automatically...

Thank you

Turn off Intelligent Fastener

All,

We would like to turn off the PTC Intelligent Fastener option for all of our users because we need them to use hardware from our specific library. I have seen some discussions, but the following config.pro option does not work.

intelligent_fastener_enabled no

Creo 3 M030

I know I can remove it from the toolbar, but smart users could possible turn it back on which would cause devastating affects to our national security.

Hiding Layer Does Not Hide Feature

$

Hello,

I have an assembly drawing which is displaying some strange behaviour.

The assembly in question comprises some old parts and some new. Some of the old parts have different layer schemes than the new ones.

In the drawing, the datum curves are displayed. I want them not to show up, so I changed the layer 'Datum_Curves' to 'Hidden'. No Change.

Due to the screwy layering scheme used in some of our older models, layers called '12_all_datum_curves' and 'All_Curves' also existed in the layer tree. I looked at which parts had these layers and they didn't exist in the top-level assembly, but I hid them anyway, just for good measure. No change.

I looked at the layer 'Datum_Curves' and checked the rules set up in it. It looked like I expected it to. I then looked at what features were on that layer. All the Datum Curve features I want to be hidden are included in the 'Datum_Curves'.

Further investigation showed that certain curves that existed in parts were hidden when only the part was open, but shown when the assembly was open.

I created a new part and made a datum curve feature. Hiding the 'Datum_Curves' layer hid the feature in that new part as expected.

So, the long and the short of it is that the features I want to hide are on the layer I am hiding and no other layer, but the features are not hidden.

What could I be doing wrong?

How to remove a component, that is not listed in model tree?

$

Hi there,

I' ve got an odd problem. I made an assembly and added several components.

With one component I tried to use "Set Representation to..." in combination with combined views.

But it did not worked as wanted, so I deleted all custom combined views and set SimpRep to Master. So far so good.

The party started, when I tried to make a BOM with a Web.Link script. The script works that way, that it list all components and counts them.

The BOM by script shows me a additional component, which I used to do the combined views testing and which I deleted from the assembly afterwards that testing.

The BOM by Creo's own "Tools" -> "Investigate" -> "BOM" is correct.

When I dig a little deeper and use Model Info for the assembly, I get this interesting screen shot attached to this question.

So how could I get rid of this not-listed-component?

BTW, I use Creo 2.0 M110

sketch entities on walls in sheetmetal model

$

Hi,

I´m new here so I'll try to put correct question and be precisely. I work with Creo 2.0 and I´m faced with one simple task in my company. I should mark some nuts, screw positions on sheet metal flat and flange walls, but I'm failing. Every time when I tried to make this, the sketch position remain in generic state, even when I create flate state. And I need this positions marks in flat state.

I need those marks for .dxf file, so it must be only line, curve or point entities when I export dxf. I tried to get this with extrude features with success, but I need only sketch entities to preserve model shape correct. Any suggestion or maybe this topic are already discussed somewhere ?

I apologise for my bad english

Thanx
