Iam trying to do a spec driven pipring in creo 2 with schematics. The default "Max Segment Length" is given as 236.7 and i need to change that to 6000. Can someone help me with this.
Now i need to change the value for each segment, otherwise it will get highlighted as a "Segment Violation" in "Pipe Check Rules"
New to teaching PTC/Creo at the High School level. I have found plenty of tutorials and projects, but I'm trying to put the whole thing into a logical, sequential approach to enable students who don't have a clue what CAD is to be able to start from scratch and after 3-4 months be able to get around on the software and be productive, while at the same time ENJOYING the process. Anyone currently running a High School program that would be willing to pass alone an outline of curriculum? Much appreciated.
I have imported a selection of .stl files into Creo Elements 1. I have them saved as .prt files now, but i'm not able to modify the part or assemble it. I'm relativley new to Pro-E as well.

I installed creo 2.0 a while ago, around a month later the program wouldn't open fully due to some license error.
I reinstalled it and the same thing has happened.

I have been creating symbols for electrical component.
I want to add a two nodes with same name. I have tried it with using special characters too, Pro-e could'nt allow to do.
Please find atached picture of the required symbol with pin locations (nodes).
If anybody know how to overcome this issue, please let me know, It would be helpfull.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I don't see any admin or licensing forums here...
Our IT department is transitioning to IPV6, mostly to enable the use of Microsoft's Direct Access (replacing our legacy VPN software). The lone problem we have with this transition so far is Pro/ENGINEER (and Pro/INTRALINK) - the FlexNet licensing is not working with the new protocol. Our IT guy is trying to get some assistance from PTC support but not having much luck. If anyone has been through this transition before, any advice would be appreciated!

I have a part that takes an age to regenerate.
That is not strictly true, the 'Regeneration Complete' dialogue box comes after a couple of seconds, but Pro/E remains extremely busy for about 5 minutes, before the 'Regeneration Complete' box disappears.
Task Manager reports CPU usage of over 50% i.e. one of the two cores is basically completely committed. It also reports that it is, indeed, Pro/E that is using all that processing.
I have looked at the trail file and it gets to '!ProgressBarDlg: Regen Completed' and shows nothing further.
How can I find out which feature is causing this problem? Is it just a case of moving the 'insert here' thing up and regenerating until the problem goes away, or is there a slick way?

I have a big question for you:
I used Creo Direct 2.0 to model a piece, and I wanted to export it in the .obj format. But I saw that .obj export isn't availavle in Direct 2.0. So, I decided to import my set in Parametric and to export it in .obj, but Parametric doesn't allow me to do this .
I don't understant why !!!
I'm able to export pieces I model from parametric, but not pieces I import in Parametric.
Help me please !!!

I am using the Pro/Toolkit and I would like to change the background color in ProE 5.0. How can I do this? I don't see the right function to do this?
I only saw ProColormapAlternateschemeSet() but I can't set every color I would like.

We would like to use table in a drawing like in Excel, we mean to fill a cell using the address (=Table1!Cell 2) of an another cell ....
and the fact to change the value in the first table, cell in other table is updated.
It will be interesting in the drawing (for the frame), not necessary to use parameters...

When I change a feature dimension in Creo 2 (select feature, RMB and select edit) Creo pauses, regenerates the model and updates the screen. Kinda neat except the model isn't really regenerated, it only looks like it is. Once I'm done I need to regen it again (or if I hit the magic left mouse click, sometimes it regens itself. Soemtimes not, but that's another discussion.) If the change is significant that means staring at my screen for a long time twice to wait for Creo do regen the same change. And if I need to change 2 dimensions, that means 3-4 regens, 3 dims = 4- regens, etc.
While it's nice to see the change previewed, I'd like to turn it off since it's only a preview and not a real regen adn simply wastes time. What's the config option to do that?
Which version of Pro E wildfire 5 is compatible with Ansys 14? I'm using Creo M080. There is no option in pro E to export the file directly to Ansys 14 workbench. If file is imported in workbench, it gives error. Whats the solution?
Someone has created a family table of an existing assembly without having a generic that's not used anywhere like it should be. For instance the G1 is the generic, being used on upper level assemblies and the instances are G2, G3 and so on... I know there's a way to fix this and create a generic that's not used and G1, G2 and so on become the instances. I have had someone show me how to do this before by going offline and refetching the files to link them up at the end, just can't remember the procedure. Thanks for the help. Paul
I need to export an assembly file as seperate STEP files. In the exporter options the option to seperate the file is misssing. How do i get it back?

When creating solid parts in piping You will get a new solid name presented for you. i.e. 123450001, 123450002. It's the last digets that I'm currios about. Can You deside what they will say? i.e. 12345_AB1, 12345_AB2..?

Need answer from someone who using schematics driven piping. It is not problem for me do it from start, but I can not understand how to update 3D piping from xml. I mean P&ID changed, new export to xml, and newly exportded xml import (reload) to update existing 3D piping (3D is done with older xml).
it is posible? what i can update from new xml?
can i update pipeline size? pipe segment size? fitting size? replace fitting?
will piping system find that some fittings was removed or changed sequence of fittings?
there is tutorials somwhere about this? (video or pdf is not important for me)
