So, once again, we are bombarded with spam. Not unusual I suppose, but the frustrating thing is that this particular forum has absolutely no way for us to report this type of thing. There's not a "meta-forum" to discuss the actual workings of this Jive software. Two major flaws that have been bothering me since its inception:
(1) Lack of a way to "report" violations like the latest.

(2) There is no way to "ignore" posts from specific users.

What can be done?

Sorry that this is majorly off-topic, but as previously mentioned, there is not a proper place to discuss such matters, at least to my knowledge, and this is the most frequented topic area.

I am getting emails from fsdgsd every few seconds.  I can not find how to stop getting emails from model group.

Hallo, i recently reinstalled PTC Creo because my previous pc doesnt work anymore. When i installed it it showed success when i put in the simple license key, but when i open the program it says:

 

License request failed for feature

 

Requesting CREOPMA_Student3...

 

C:\ProgramData\PTC\Licensing\BK400407EDSTUDENTUNICL_license.dat:(-21) License file does not support this version.

I also tried to put in the old license file, but it just shows an error.

Is it possible to impose more thermal boundary conditions on the same surface?

Hello,

 

I am new to CREO Simulate and I have just started to work on thermal simulations. I have a problem concerning boundary conditions for a steady state thermal analysis: in particular I cannot impose a prescribed temperature together with a convection condition on the same surface, which I would like to remain at that fixed temperature while subjected to convection. When I apply the second condition (the convective one) a message appears telling me "Another boundary condition from this set is using the same geometry. Do you want to use selected geometry for this boundary condition and delete the preexisting one?". So I would like to ask if there is a way to overcome this situation.

I would like to make a spiral patter of holes that increase in size as the spiral increases in radius.  Any ideas?

 

I've made 2 attempts so far.

#1: Fill pattern> Spiral

Creates a nice easy spiral but can't figure out how to modify the hole size.

 

#2 Patter along a curve:

Created a spiral Datum Curve, then used it to create a sketch that I used to make the spiral pattern.

Same problem as before though...  How to adjust the diameter of the hole?  "Dimension" option is grayed out for a pattern along a curve...

I installed Creo 2.0 on some new HP notebooks last week and used our existing configuration files that we used with Creo 2.0 on our previous notebooks. The browser for Creo is set to Mozilla in the configuration files. We have IE 11 installed on our computers also and this cannot be downgraded per IT. We have issues with the embedded Creo browser on the newly installed computers now. The issue is that the browser window only shows a partial webpage/windchill page and it does not fill up the entire allotted space of the Creo browser window. I have searched for the same issue on PTC' support site and cannot find the same issue or a solution. Does anyone have an idea of what could be causing the issue and how to resolve the issue?

I have a general question about using Change notice number in the drawing title block or in the revision table.

Currently we are showing this information on all our drawings. We were wondering if this information is really required.

 

What are the uses of showing this information? is it an industry or any standard requirement? ANSI/ASME or ISO?

Are other companies also showing this information on the drawings?

Can anyone share this information?

Hi,

I have an assembly in Creo and I want to export it to CATIA. There the model checkers check for a chamfer, for example, that is in one of the parts in the assembly. Is it somehow possible to export my "asm" in that way that the checker in CATIA "sees" the chamfer?

I need to project a point thru a irregular shape. like a irregular shape using sweept blend. But I can't do it due the qty of vertex.

It is possible to make it starting with a Point..??

We have a wire mesh that is made of ,047 dia wires and .125 spacing. The mesh we need is about a 12" circle.

We have modeled the full circle, but for the drawing we need to show a cut-away so we can detail the support bar weldment under the mesh.

Currently the designer has done an extrude of his cutout shape and subtracted this from the model. This is obviously not the proper method as the weight changes and we never have the full circle mesh to show at the next higher level. It is also causing the publishing of this model file and any higher level assemblies to fail because of the time needed to process the 'cutout'. I have doubled the publish.cadtimeout value in Windchill and it is still failing. Component is set to 1800, drawing to 2400 on the last failure. I am trying again with component set to 2400.

 

The mesh is made by drawing to cylinders 80 degrees to each other and then patterning them to the width needed. We have then drawn 2 concentric circles and subtracted the 'washer' shape to trim the square to a circle. The designer added a spline surface to form the section cut tied to the out diameter and then subtracted that for his drawing shape. I want to improve the model so we have the full circle mesh for weight and upper level assemblies but can still have the cutout of the mesh for the immediate assembly level.

 

Is there a way to do a detail view cutout of a single part at the assembly level that has pieces to be shown below the cut away section?

I have thought about a family table, where -1 instance is the full diameter and the -2 instance is the cut away one. I don't think this is the 'proper' method for a family table, but it would work for the views, not sure about the publishing.

 

Any suggestions will be appreciated as it is driving my crazy not being able to publish the files.

Is it possible to run Creo View from a server location when you open it from a browser in Windchill?  I cannot find or figure out how the browser knows where the application is loaded when you select a viewable from Windchill.  I'm trying to find ways to make upgrading versions of Creo View easier without having to touch 150+ machines.

Hi All,

 

I've recently upgraded my PC and ended up with Excel 2016 and Creo 2.0 M240. I created a pattern table template which used a separate external spreadsheet to calculate the values and then paste into the table. I would then save, click OK on the prompt about different formatting and then close the window. This has always worked for me back when I had Excel 2013 and Creo 2.0 M240 instead. Now with the upgrade, I don't seem to be able to save at all. I don't get a prompt asking me to save or anything and so I cannot change any of my table patterns through excel.

 

Has anyone else had this problem? I've tried 'save as' but it still does not seem to reflect back into the model. Any help would be great as I don't think I can easily downgrade my office version anymore!

I'm using Creo2.

I am trying to animate a wobble plate. I got the crank to rotate and animate, but not sure how to constrain the plate so that when the crank rotates the plate wobbles like I expect??

Help!!

I am exporting assembly having some imported parts with quilts, results are not smooth. Also lots of parts are not exported in waveform (.obj) file

Hey guys, I'm getting pretty frustrated here. I'm trying to perform a sensitivity study with O.D. and wall thickness of a frame. For some reason I cannot select ANY cross sectional dimensions. Only extruded lengths. I've tried new solid extrusions, no relationships or references aside from surface planes. I've already started over and remolded everything once because I thought I made an error the first time. Don't want to do it again.

 

This tube/frame is drawn as a sketch. It is not a shell or structural shaped.

Hi everyone,

 

I have one drawing where I need to modify the Font for all notes. I have tried using C++ toolkit but some how the note's font are not updating with my desired one.

 

I checked two options:

 

1. I changed it manually and get the Font name using toolkit that runs successful (I tried this just to make sure that my code runs fine)

 

2. I visited all the drawing notes using C++ Toolkit, and when I am changing the Font it is not reflecting in the drawing. I want to change existing Font name to "CG Times Bold" and for that I am passing "cgtimebd". This value I got from the 1st step. (Where I changed the font name manually and get the exact name in code). Anyway I tried both but it is not reflecting in drawing.

 

To modify the Font, I am using ProDtlnotetextFontSet api. After setting the font set, there is no further statements in the function that executes further.
