BOM balloon parameter

Hello,

in my opinion should be possible to change the default rpt.index parameter with a different one, this has also connected with the using of the FINDNUMBER attribute in Windchill in order to link Bom balloons with Windchill structure, I'm quite surprised that this is not yet a core functionality seeing that Creo/ProE and Windchill should talk each other natively.

Thanks

Kind regards,

Enrico

Controlling an assembly by changing parameters belonging to parts and features.

Hello,

I have created a quite large assembly containing many parts and sub assemblies and have different parameters in several of these that controls different aspects of the assembly.

What I am wondering is if there is a convenient possibilty to gather all these interesting parameters in a separate list where I can manipulate them? Now I have to remember in which assembly, part or feature that the parameter is created and then locate it and change it. The closest I have come is creating my own filter under parameters but then I can't choose specific parameters and I also have to import the file describing the filte configuration everytime I have closed Creo.

Kind Regards

Jimmie

Default Rep opened from Model Tree selection

Hello.

Creo 2 or 3.

I have the config option : open_simplified_rep_by_default set to YES

I can open an assembly from disk directly in default representation . It's OK

BUT ...

If I select a sub-assembly in the model tree of top Assembly and (using Right Mouse Button ) I select "open"

the system shows me a typical panel (Open Rep) in which i have to select the representation I want.

So, in this case, the default representation is not the standard rep to be automatically opened.

Any idea ?

Any option for config.pro ?

Any trick ?

Many thanks

Pier

How to set component being assembled to transparent during component placement?

I know how to change the color of the component or assemble being placed using File>Options>System Colors>Secondary Previewed Geometry.   Is there a way to make the components transparent during placement?

Multiple questions on: Config.sup, Batch files, Mapkeys

I've been tasked with standardizing our config.pro files.  I'm no expert, so I dug around the internet (and these boards) trying to figure out how to best go about this and discovered Config.sup files.  My understanding is that you do not want to incorporate everything (as far as config options) into this file.  Only those that are absolutely necessary, as to not upset your user base.  In addition, when creating the config.sup, I should not include any Mapkeys.  I've also seen the term "batch files" tossed around when discussing this subject.

I'm a fairly junior draftsman and have zero knowledge of Batch files and Mapkeys.  I'm mildly proficient at managing config.pro, but obviously do not grasp the full reach of its possibilities in terms of customization.

1) Do I need to have a full understanding of Batch files and Mapkeys before doing this?

2) Where should I start with this?  I don't even know how to generate a config.sup file.  It isn't a dropdown extension when exporting config.pro.

3) What are some examples of options that you would include in a config.sup?

4) Once you have created and defined its contents, how do you implement it?

Thanks!
