I've been tasked with standardizing our config.pro files. I'm no expert, so I dug around the internet (and these boards) trying to figure out how to best go about this and discovered Config.sup files. My understanding is that you do not want to incorporate everything (as far as config options) into this file. Only those that are absolutely necessary, as to not upset your user base. In addition, when creating the config.sup, I should not include any Mapkeys. I've also seen the term "batch files" tossed around when discussing this subject.
I'm a fairly junior draftsman and have zero knowledge of Batch files and Mapkeys. I'm mildly proficient at managing config.pro, but obviously do not grasp the full reach of its possibilities in terms of customization.
1) Do I need to have a full understanding of Batch files and Mapkeys before doing this?
2) Where should I start with this? I don't even know how to generate a config.sup file. It isn't a dropdown extension when exporting config.pro.
3) What are some examples of options that you would include in a config.sup?
4) Once you have created and defined its contents, how do you implement it?
Thanks!
