When I try to run CREO Parametrics it always says that I have to register the quality agent.
Unfortunately the quality agent was removed from the download package.
Where can I download the PTC Quality Agent?

Sheet metal pierce and bend
If you see the attached jpeg, you can see what I want to do (assuming my Snagit skills are good enough).
I want to pierce a semi-circle and bend it up 90 degrees along the axis of the semi-circle. Seems easy, doesn't it? I start with a planar wall, no openings. I would have though some kind of rop to start with, but I can't do a sketched rip without going completely to the edge of the model, and I only want to rip a half circle, not the whole thing.
I also don't want to remove material if I can help it. Is there a simplae way to do this without cutting an opening then adding a wall? Even tha doesn't work if I use a flat wall - it won't rotate it up, only down, and then only about 10 degrees. This is Creo 2.0.

Creo 2.0 doesn't launch
Hi Guys,
I downloaded the trial version of Creo, installed it and Parametric doesn't run. ModelCHECK launches and appears to run. Quality agent runs (info pasted below) but when I try and run Parametric, nothing happens.
Is there an error log somewhere I can check?

System parameter values may not be up to date for some instances
Since we started using Windchill with Creo Elements Pro 5.0 we have a annoying phenomena. For about half of our family tables we get an error message when regenerating the file in Creo, "System parameter values in family table ... may not be up to date for some instances".
I have read an other discussion on this community where the answer was that some instances contain an "*".
I have changed some of our familytables and in some cases removing the asterix eliminated the problem but in some cases the problem remain.
Since family tables add to the regenerating time anyway, we don't want to add more time with annoying error messages.
Does anyone know a sollution to this problem?

Common Folders v. Personal Favorites
In the latest update of creo at work, the window containing the model tree switches to Personal Favorites when all models are closed. It used to go to Common Folders. I have no use for Personal Favorites, and I prefer it to revert to Common Folders as it did before. I don't know what was changed in the latest update.
Does anyone know how to make the program do this?

Create drawings from Family Tables
Does anyone perhaps no of a way to automatically generate drawings of items in a family table.
I have about 25 instances in a family table, basically the amount of extrudes are more and the width grows.
I need to get flat DXF files to take to my laser machine.
I do this for different products. So opening over 200 instances of products, and manually making over 200 drawings is a pain in the ... um yes...
Is there a way to do this that anyone is aware of? your help will really be appreciated!

Animating in Mechanica
Is there a neat way in Mechanica to run a series of analyses iterating a parameter (so a sensitivity study, so far) and then to set up an identical results view for each value of the parameter and assemble them into an animation?
Our gear design software guys have just updated their profile export options, and they think it would be cool if I were to run some contact analysis on a gear pair with tip relief... it definitely would be if I could produce an animation showing the stress varying as the gears mesh.
Do I need to be considering Mechanism? Can I do this in WF4 or are there shiny new features in Creo that would help?

Area of a closed loop in drawing
Hello,
I am a relatively new ProE/CREO 2.0 user. I used to work with Solid Edge 4 and NX7.5, but in my new department they are using Wildfire 4.0 and are STILL thinking about moving to CREO 2.0. It did not stop me from trying Creo2.0.
Concerning the topic, when making a drawing in Solid Edge, I used to be able to the area of ANY closed loop in 3 clicks ("Inspect" Tab-->"Area" icon --> Click on the "closed loop"..Tadaaaa!!!). Is there a way to do the same thing in ProE or Creo2.0??? especially when you have a variable sweep geometry, you created a section view in your drawing, and you want to know the area of the section without having to go back to the 3D model...for example...

how to control 5 axis rapid motion?
Hello all,
How do any of you control 5 axis rapid motion? Currently when we program, we'll use a retract sphere to clear all of our tooling and fixtures. When moving between sequences in a single operation, I am assuming that the tool vector stays normal to the sphere----be we have had a few instances where the tool vector gets pretty out of whack. How is the tool vector controlled?
I also would like to be able to control the resolution (number of control points around the sphere) that the 5 axis rapid is broken up into....is there a parameter somewhere to adjust that?
One other thing that would be nice to be able to control is to choose a primary retract axis------for example, if I am doing work on one side of a part and need to flip the rotary axis 180 degrees, it would be nice to have my rapid move consist of a Z retract and a simple rotary axis spin, rather than have a lot of motion in the A axis (trunion) as well.
Any suggestions or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Newbie - designing a door handle
Hi - I'm brand new with 3D modelling. Have been playing around with Element/DM Express and getting used to the tools and capability.
One thing I don't know how to do is create a hollow door handle. I want to build in the following aspects which is what I'm finding difficult:
- I want a curved handle that comes perpendicular out of the door and sweeps through to the handle
- It needs to be hollow
- It needs to be split horizontally so that the top and bottom parts come away leaving me to build in some internal workings
- I also want to build various dips in the handle profile where your fingers wrap round.
Can all of this be done in DM Express?
If so, can someone point to any tutorials that I can watch that helps me make the above model? They can be 4 separate tutorials.
Or can someone give me some clues on how to create or tools I need to use?

Creo Drawing Compare
Once I have found the drawings doing a search I should be able to place a checkmark by both objects then right click and have a Compare in CreoView option... Both versions of the drawing are automatically set up on Creo View to perform the compare.

Spekan Purge Utility
After running the Spekan Purge utility, when attempting to open model 123.prt, I receive the message, "123.prt.1 is an invalid file". This has occurred on numerous files in numerous folders. Has anyone else encountered this and, if so, can you advise, please, the resolution to be able to open the models?

Pro/Toolkit error : startup application failed
Hello,
I am developping a bit with Pro/Toolkit. First I did my application as spawn mode (exe) as they advice us. I have no problem with that, I compile it and register it and then it works fine in ProE 64 bits. Then I decided to do the same application but as DLL mode in order to have my application running faster but I can't get it to work :
non pb with compilation , then I register it like this :

Simplified rep issue
Hi,
i have 2 models assembled together, & want to make a cut out, one model from the other leaving a cavity. The model i want to make an impression of has a simplified rep. In the assembly tree, i set the user defined rep i want & i see it take affect, but when i make the cut out it seems to default back to the master rep, meaning i don't get the cavity i want. Any reason why this is happening?

Printing in Creo View Lite Vs. Parametric 2.0
I'm new to Creo from Solidworks at my new employer. Can someone maybe help me with printing issues in Creo View? No one here uses Creo but me yet, but many need to view and print Creo drawings. When they print from Creo View Lite in monochrome mode, all the text prints out a light gray and is hardly visible. When I print from Parametric, the text prints in black correctly. Does anyone have any advice they can give me to try. Attached is a scan.

New Creo 2 datecode causing issues, now old one does it
This is driving myself and IT crazy.
We use a network install and were cooking along pretty good with M040. This weekend, I updated us to M050. Starting yesterday, about 1/2 the users started having issues where the software would not start. Many times, we got the attached messages. If it did start, it took like 5 minutes to come up. If it got that far, many times it would crash and go away. IT says they did not do anything over the weekend so I figure there is something wrong with the M050 version. I change us back to M040 and now it behaves the same. It seems like it is now affecting more and more users to. Anyone seen this or know how to fix it?
