hi everyone,

Hello,
My apologies if this topic is covered lots, but I've had problems finding relevent information that helps me.
I had PTC Wildfire installed on my PC. I had to reinstall my OS, and now when I try to install Wildfire, I get a message saying that the license has been installed too many times. I guess two is one too many. I'm not sure what to do, as it seems that I need a support contract in order to get in touch with PTC.
thanks
Hi,
I have a customer using wildfire 5.0 and he uses parameters to generate different versions of his parts. There's a main parameter (call it "Size") and every other parameter depends on Size, every "dimension" is calculated based on parameters.
The problem is that when he regenerates his parts by changing the main parameter, everything goes well, except that surface colors and properties (like "Surface Name") are lost. We need to keep the properties in every version to be able to identify each surface individually. I'm not used to Wildfire or Creo at all and i'm pretty sure this is possible.
My question is simple, what's the solution to keep colors and properties used in the "generic" size of the part when regenerating the part ?
Thanks,

Dear all,
I'm a new user of Creo 5.0 (Student Edition). I need to save my file as .unv. Unfortunatelly, i don't have this type of extension in "Save as type".
Does anybody have the same problem??
Hello, I learned a bit about wildfire last year at school and I was hoping someone could help me find a version
Hello Everyone,
I'm exploring the AFX (or EFX) in Creo Parametric 2.0. I was wondering, Can there be set (in the library or somewhere else) that profiles have a fixed length ?
Thx!
Attached is tie rod dwg. I am trying to do a FEA on the tie rod but results was not what I wanted.
Anyway, I will start by explaning this tie rod. There are four tie rod that hold two platen in place. The picture shows half of a tie rod cuz I used a symmetric constraint on it. The is a platen in between the two threaded area and two nuts are holding this platen in place.
It has thread diameter of 9 1/2". So just using basic calculation with 825000 pre load on the tie rod. The stress should be around 12500 psi. But using FEA software (creo), the lowest stress I get by changing the constraint is 52000 psi. that's way too much for the material. I am wondering if I constraint it correctly.
Here is how i constraint it, I created a region where the nuts thread contact with the tie rod thread, I put the 825000 lb on this region on every thread.
Then on the opposite side of the thread (across from the above region, ie the slope part of the thread) I put a displacement constraint to constraint any movement on XYZ translation.
I am not sure if that's enough or can someone explain to me how to constraint a thread. Plus this part is relatively large so instead of drawing the actual thread, I drew it as a cut and revolve it then pattern it. I tried drawing the nuts in but the assembly would not mesh.
If someone who is can point me to a correct direction on how u would constraint this would be great. thanks in advance
All of the axes shown in my drawing are set to the "CTRLFONT" line style but when I create my pdf they all show up as "PHANTOMFONT". Does anyone know what's causing this?

I was wondering if there was a way to show a model sketch in a particular view, but hide it in the others. I've been creating sketches in my models to later show bolt circles, gage points, etc., in my detail drawings, but I don't know how to control which views they are visible in. I always get what you see below.
Is there a better way of doing this?
Thanks,
Matt
hello i'm Jo
I"C++" want toprint from. and file format is ".drw".
Withouta mouse orother actions"c + +"in theprintmust.
But I"creo" and "proe"can not find command line print.

If there is no way, should not tell me.
Methodshave been lookingfor a week.
Some of my day consists of taking standard parts and making specials.
Typically this is just simple length changes per the customers requirements.
The question I have is with the way the drawing handles length changes.
If you have a partial view and the length is changed, why does the centerline and dimension not move with the end of the part relative to where they had been to the standard part?
The first drawings shows the part from the standard drawing.
The second drawings shows the part when, in this case, the part was made longer. The centerline of the notch of the tube is now where the end of the shorter, parent part would be given the new length of the part. Why does the centerline and therefore the dimension stay relative to this portion of the part that is in the view? This happens on several parts and several drawings when a part is either lengthened or shortened for a special.
If you had any suggestion how to keep the centerline relative to the portian of the view shown, I would appreciate it.
(FYI - in the second picture, you can see another centerline from a second view that has moved also, so it even happens multiple times in a drawing)
Thanks, Dale
Anyone out there know how to disable the tooltips that Creo 2.0 throws at me? I attached an image as an example of one of the many tooltips I've seen. It may have been useful when transitioning from WF 5.0 to this version, but after the first time I see it these tooltips are annoying. I have clicked that check box indicating I do not want the message shown again, but it keeps re-appearing on time I restart Creo. I tried saving my config file after clicking that check box, but that doesn't seem to have worked.
Any help would be appreciated.
I have a family table (FT) for an assembly. I had to re-name the instances in Intralink. When I went back into the FT, the instances were not in the same order as they were before the re-name.
In the FT editor, there is a choice for Tools > Sort > Ascending (Decending). When I pick this, it only re-orders the column for Instance Name. How can I get my entire FT to re-order so I do not lose the structure of the FT for all of the instances. I tried to do this in Excel as well, and I could not get it to sort.

I have a cloud of points, I create a datum curve.
Interpole this datum curve.
Create a boundary blend.
I need to revolutionize this 3D geometry, but without designing it into a sketch. Because will deform the geometry.
How can I build this geometry in Creo Parametric?

Hello. I am having a dickens of a time with my default settings on the drawing portion.
Any tips on how to set the default setting to 0.1400 and keep that as my default?
As of now, I am able to select the inital text and resize, but it's time consuming.
Thanks, J
Hi all,
I'm currently trying to create a specDB for spec driven piping.
Normally the “CODE” (e.g.: INLINE, INLINE_REDUCING, CORNER, …) will be placed as the parameter “fitting_code” in the part and automatically taken into the auto-selection file (in the spec DB). What could be the reason, that instead of e.g.: “INLINE” there is“NONE” for the code?

Is it possible to add custom profiles to AFX library.
I have found, that many of Bosch MGE profiles are missing in the library.
Our electrical design team has been an offsite collaborator for a while now supporting a very large project that is in it's senior years. We have been using AutoCAD (their preferred tool) for all electrical designs system wide.
Our team has been given the task to not only learn Creo Schematics, but figure out the best way to merge it into our design process.
I have begun converting some existing wiring diagrams into a Creo design while doing so I have been creating and submitting aritfacts to a central catalog and it is this that has me thinking, "How can we use this tool the way it is meant to be used at this stage of the game?"
We have an existing component database of close to 40,000 components, 90% of which are electrical. How does one even start to create a catalog this large?
At this point I think using our designs to route 3D cables is not of any importance. The main objective is to USE Creo Schematics instead of AutoCAD.
I guess I would like to get others opinions on can we use Schematics how it was meant to be used, with a Central Catalog consisting of datatables, datasets and artifacts reflect all of our components?
I edited the part spacing in my mold split assembly and the main parting surface did not move with it. I tried to "edit definition" the skirt surfaces, but it still kept them in the old locations. I was going to create a new parting surface, but the skirt surface button is greyed out.
