Hi,
I've created several Annotation sets but now I'd like to reorder them in the list view. I can reorder them in the Tree View but can't do it in the List View. Any ideas?
I'm running Creo View MCAD 3.0 m031
Thanks

Hello,
Could someone tell me how to change the rendered background color from black to white? Not sure why black is default. The rendered image is obscured with black as the background. Previous discussions indicated changing from 'Draft' to 'High' quality, but the background remains black after trying this Thank you.
Hi folks,
I am using Creo Elements / Direct Modeling Express. I am trying to loft through three profiles on three workplanes in a workplane set. The profiles are fairly simple shapes with four vertices each. But one of the workplanes is perpendicular to another one and one edge of the profile on one is coextensive with one edge of a profile in another workplane (and I think that may be causing a problem). Anyway, when I try to create an appropriate matchline I get an error message which says: "If a vertex lies in another workplane, a vertex must be at the same position in the other workplane." I don't know what that means and cannot create a loft between the three profiles on the three workplanes. What must I do to create this loft? I have attached a drawing with the three workplanes so you can see what I am talking about.
Thanks in advance,
Vincent
I did test out the Weld-application, and I see that the weld-annotation do come upside-down in my drawings. I have looked in the menus, but can’t seem to be able to turn it. Anyone got a tip on how to do this?
Hello all,
This is my first time starting a discussion on the community, so if this is the wrong place for this topic, please tell me.
I'm using Creo Parametric 2.0 M090 with Creo View ECAD Validate 2.0 M040 and I'm relatively new at using Creo Parametric (Bascically I'm a Electronic Engineer who also performs mechanical work). Also this is my first time using the IDX interface between Cadence Allegro and Creo Parametric.
I've created a part in Creo which is the board outline.
Then I created an baseline IDX for the ECAD engineer.
He placed some mechanical holes and via's in the board.
But when I'm importing these changes, the holes are placed 'in the air'.
It seems the holes are placed on the wrong datum planes, but of that I'm not sure.
Anyway the board in Creo is drawn on the XY-axis, while the holes are placed on the XZ-axis.
Also Creo seems to add a datum plane on the XZ-axis while importing the holes, maybe this is used to place the holes in Creo, but of that I'm not sure.
Can anyone tell me where to look for finding the cause of this problem?
I can't seem to understand how the import-function of holes is working and to which it refers.
The configuration of Creo for using ECAD-MCAD Collaboration is done as follows:
ecad_board_csys_def_name board_cs
template_ecadpart wtpub://Windchill Hengelo/Libraries/Formats/Start_Models/mmkgs_ecad_tmplt.prt
ecad_import_holes_as_features Yes
ecad_via_hole_import Yes
ecad_tool_hole_import No
ecad_mtg_hole_import no
ecad_load_filtered_holes_to_ui yes
ecad_outline_holes_exp_method arcs
ecad_comp_csys_def_name ecad_cs
ecad_comp_xsec_def_name none
ecad_mapping_file S:\opt1\ptc\pro_stds\configs_ecad\ecad_hint.map
template_ecadasm wtpub://Windchill Hengelo/Libraries/Formats/Start_Models/mmkgs_asm_design.asm
Maybe I did something wrong in this configuration, but I don't know that.
I'm looking forward to hear from some of you in this community

Actually I want to set different color for crosshatch in drawing sectioned view. The color of the hatching should be different from component edge & dimension extension line colors. And I want to set it as default color in my drawing templates.
Dear Ptc'ers,
We're looking to automate our plastic part analysis, the process is always the same:
Importing .stp files
x, y, z dimensions (bounding box)
volume
start thickness analysis and plot image (why not export then the 3D pdf?)
start draft analysis (user input for the correct vector) and export image or 3D pdf
Injecting the dimensions into a spreadsheet
Not so complicated, and with NX I had the oppurtunity to make quickly macro's for such processes.
But where to start with Creo?
Thanks for your answers!
I am trying to add the following dimension to a drawing and as you can see from the image below it is automatically displaying the dimension in the wrong orientation. To comply with relevant drawing standards it should be orientated 180 degrees however this is how Creo is displaying the dimension when I add it. I have tried changing selecting both edges first and it makes no difference. Any ideas how to resolve this issue? I should also add that other added dimensions on this drawing view have been added and are displayed in the correct orientation.
I sent a dxf sheetmetal part with lots of engraved text (with a font thats suitable for lasercutting of course) to our manufacturer.
They told me the text is totally messed up with lots of double lines and interrupted lines and its too much work to have it lasercut.
Also they told me that many times dxf files of sheetmetal parts made in Creo have small gaps in objects to be lasercut.
How is this possible? In Creo everything looks fine but if I open exported files in any other dxf/dwg viewer, I indeed see lots of gaps.
When I press "preview" in the Export Setup tab, I do see lots of green lines (these are double lines?) in the text, but I cant do anything with this information.
Why is extruded text messed up when exporting? What can I do about it?

Hi all,
I would like to add a drawingView to the selectionBuffer.
Does someboby already code this?
The only one solution I have found is to add the model included the view, but not the view itself.
Thanks in advance

Ik heb een igs van iemand gekregen, maar kan het niet ontvouwen, ik krijg de melding "Base Face is not specified". Kan iemand me helpen, ik werk met modeling 18.10
How do I create my own hatch pattern that reflects the matieal I am working with, within Creo3.0, I know you can simply change the hatch pattern style within the menu, but sombody created them in the first place so how do I create a customer hatch pattern of my own??
Hi there!! Now I am designing bevel and sun and planetry gear for my university project. I am facing a problem that , the gears which I drawn using CREO 3.0 ( Student Edition), is not mesh properly in the assembly window. Can any one suggest me a valid idea to comeover this problem and also suggest me how to draw ring gear. Thanks in advance.
Waiting a better solution. Also Suggest me the involute equation.
hello
i am giving direct print of drawing from creo but print comes correct when i reduce the scale of drawing from 100% to 90% otherwise print doesnot comes right, is there any setting in config file or inside creo drawing envoirnment please help to find the solution..
I am looking for the use of the option import profile editor,
Tools -> import profile editor.
Also what is the default location of .dip file.
Actually I need to provide this .dip with creo installation itself and config file should pick it up from provided location.
thanks.
Hi all,
I am having problems with PTC Simulate overwriting other types of files that have similar file name extensions, i.e. .prt. Originally this appeared to be limited to non-Creo programs. Recently, files generated in PTC Parametric 3.0 M060 appear only as Simulate program files. This includes several .stp files that I imported to Parametric, modified and saved as Parametric part and assembly files. These files resulted in several hundred files that could only be opened by Simulate, of which I don't have a functional copy.
I can use built in Windows capabilities to change individual files back to the correct program type. This takes a long time, however. New files have the same problem the next day.
I have tried to go through the sales channel and Tech Support, but have not received any meaningful assistance to date.
Any thoughts on this problem would be greatly appreciated.

I created a simple analysis with a 3-point constraint system for a plate with hole in it (the part is attached in zip file with this post)
However whenever I try to analyse the part, it keeps throwing the following error:
The unconstrained degree of freedom can be seen by running
a constrained Modal Analysis with rigid mode search.
Animating the rigid modes will display the unconstrained
degrees of freedom. If the error still occurs, then the
issue could be caused by material properties or unattached
spring/mass idealizations.
How do I fix this problem?
Has anyone able to create annotations in j-link, or weblink? we're looking for a simple way to convert all the drawing dimensions into annotations so we can use anark to print 3D models.
thanks
hello, new Creo user here. Creo options modeler looks interesting for our product families. I was wonder if drawings can be created with using options modeler? or do we have to have famility tables to create drawings of different iterations of a product family?
