I build many large, highly connected assemblies that are typically at least 3 indenture levels deep. Specifically these are complex mechanical layouts using primarily skeleton parts and skeleton assemblies. These models perform amazing things for my company allowing us to change rocket size and length dramatically and update nearly 1000 unique objects (and many thousands via assembly constraints) within 5 minutes. HOWEVER, I make extensive use of external copy geometry. Which leads to a big head ache.
Three or 4 times per year I am asked to make a new configuration that is to be (at least initially) exactly like the last one only with different sizing (think length and diameter of rocket stages). The rename functionality works beautifully for me EXCEPT that IN MY SITUATION, I invariably DO want the external copy geometry items in all components to now point to the NEW object. That is not current behavior when using rename within PDMLink.. and I "get" that.
Does anyone know a way to perform these large "cloning exercises" in a manner that WILL do what I want?
CREO 2.0 M200 installation was sucessed on winXP 32bit machine.
But, M210 installation did not bigin.
Is there someone knows about this?
I need to learn and become proficient with Creo in the most direct and efficient way possible. This includes both standard modeling and fairly advanced surfacing capabilities. The reason I want to learn Creo is so I can take advantage of its stronger surfacing capabilities relative to Autodesk Inventor, which I already know.
I learned Autodesk Inventor by purchasing (for around $150) a set of about 50 hours worth of video tutorials online. That experience was very positive, because the tutorials were very effective at teaching what each covered, and across them they basically covered everything there is to know from start to finish in an organized and continuous fashion.
However, for Creo it seems all I am really able to find are the PTC University Learning Exchange tutorials. I could be missing something, but they do not appear to actually have any organization or continuity to them. Rather, they're pretty scattershot -- it basically seems like a big depository for disparate tutorials written on random topics.
Can anyone tell me what they recommend on how to learn Creo thoroughly from start up through fairly advanced surface modeling capabilities? I would really like to find some well organized and comprehensive way of doing this. Learning this stuff takes a lot of time, so it's important to take the most efficient approach possible. I may have to go with a different CAD software if the only thing available is Learning Exchange given its apparent randomness.
I have Creo Parametric 2. While looking into Mechanism Design I noticed that I was able to add a server motor to a simple assembly that has a pin connection. Basically I have a hinged door that I am trying to create an animation. When I try to perform any kind of dynamic or kinematic analysis I get an error message saying that I don't have access or I am missing the module.
Do I need to spend more money to get the dynamics to work with my model?
Hallo Zusammen,
MfG

Hello everyone, I wonder to know how to install FloEFD in creo parametric for CFD analysis?
Hello everyone, I wonder to know, there is the part in creo parametric for design roll forming process?
I get this error when I try to save a pkg file. This is my first time using Creo 4.0 and I need to save files for a class.
Creo Elements/Direct Modeling could not create the package file "H:/ghn.pk2". Please check if you have sufficient virtual memory, and if you have left enough space in the destination directory and in "C:/Users/WOOLDR~1/AppData/Local/Temp/3dv0q4841n6maq87296.autotmp". (Error -1)
Hi guys
I havnt used creo for a while and i need to model a washer with a curved slot on the od to a depth. The washer is 50dia 12mm thk. The slot is 6wide 4deep and rotates 30 degrees. Thanks mick
How to print a range of sheets in Drawing Environment? Presently it does not seem to be working.
In the settings window even though we enter page range in this format "1-3" only the current sheets gets plotted. But the "All" option works fine.
Any solutions for this?
In Windchill 10.1, In the folder view of any container, when you click on the name field of any document, it takes you to the details page of the document. So the names are actually hyperlinks to the details of the document. My requirement is to export these hyperlinks from windchill into excel sheet using export list to xlsx from actions menu in the folder page Please reply if any one had an idea of how this can be done
Hi,
I am running Creo 3 Simulate, we are trying to determine the stress within the walls of a pressure vessel assembly from external pressure, but using cyclic symmetry to speed up the process.
The model runs ok and the analysis completes, but the result is always far beyond the material yield turning the model red, this happens even if the external pressure load is very low, say around 100psi, the material yield is 130ksi, the walls are more than capable of with standing this pressure, normal operating pressure would be 10kpsi.
Thanks
Geoff.

Hi!
Creo Simulate has a feature called distributed computing. Is this some parallel computing using e.g. MPI distributing a simulation load over multiple nodes? Is there any good setup-How-To? Is this feature always included or do we need an additional license (for each node)?
Any recommendations for setup or benchmarks for achievable speedup.

I'm currently trying to run Creo 3 on the above but an older model with the 1Gb graphics card.
It used to work just fine, but with Win 10 and the latest Graphics and drivers generates fatal errors after about 5 mins use, main graphics window in Creo goes totally black etc then gives a "fatal error" and Creo dies.
Totally useless and of course Macs are not supported. I've run Wildfire and then Creo on Macs for many years without this kind of issue under bootcamp - since it first came out.
Solidworks runs just fine as do all other programs.
So, just wondering, anyone got the 2Gb graphics card version on the 15" MacBook Pro, if so, does it run fine?
Thanks
Stephen
Trying to move balloons in 3.0 is now a PITA (or appears to be)
In 2.0 there was a menu that appeared that would allow me to select what I wanted to attach the balloon to (surface, entity, edge, etc...) Now in 3.0 this appears to be gone. Is there some way to do this again? Help please, we are regretting upgrading to 3.0.......
We make many complex assemblies that have a high Length / Diameter ratio, and extensively use broken orthogonal views on drawings.
Question: Is it possible somehow to create broken 3D views?
Has anyone had any experience with Word documents that are, presumably, unable to publish to PDF due to file size? There have been multiple times where I encountered documents that are not publishing; and after some investigating, I am still unsure of why they will not publish. However, the trend I am noticing is that usually when I cannot find a cause, they are also very large documents. I think it is somewhere in the ballpark of 100mb where I notice the issue.
Something to note: MS Word actually has a hard limit itself at 512mb (and yes, we have hit that limit before). Really, the only way you get to 100mb+ in a word document is if you have a whole mess of pictures or scanned documents inserted into the document.
Has anyone else encountered this?
Thanks!
Colten
