Hi guys ! Is it possible to set a default hatch color in Creo ? I've tried editing the .xch files with RGB codes, but of no use. Kindly help me out. Thanks in advance.

Can I place a standard hole note callout in a dimension?
I have made some effort to modify hole note callouts with the DEFAULT_CALLOUT_FORMAT_DATA option. However, I don't like how the notes don't look like dimensions. Is there a way to place the notes within the diameter dimensions of the hole, so that I get parameterized information but in a dimension?
Appearance .dmt issues creo 3.0
Is anyone else having issues with creo 3.0 loading their appearance files through the config. file? I am at a loss to get these to load on opening of the program. Had no issue with 2.0 now just a hassle
Swept blend
Hello i trying to make a swept blend between two circles.
The second circle centrum is 7 mm down in vertical axes from he other circle. Also the circles are not the same size.
I made two circles then made two guide line for the blend but I down really know how to do it. The only thing that works for me is to make a boundry blend and then thicken it but then the solid becomes wierd when you make it too thick.
Here are some pictures showing what i want:
Spiral assembly/pattern of chain
Hello again community
I would like to make an assembly of coiled roller chain. When rollin, I found out it makes "archimedean spiral" shape.
I was able to create curve of desired shape and somehow place some points on it from YouTube tutorial, but its kinda hard to complete it.
To describe issue in detail:
I have this assembly of one piece of roller chain (pin constraint in middle)
Then I was able to do this
Double point constraint which should work then as a reference of pattern. But the pattern fails and does not fill the spiral. Second issue is that I want those empty holes attached into previous pin. Of course im open to another solutions.
The definition of issue is to simulate 2 meters of 6B 8187 DIN roller chain. P=9.525mm so number of pieces is 210.
Thank You for any advices or solutions.
Saving Issue / Name "xxx" is invalid
Hi peeps
am having a right nightmare with saving a model, when I save the model it flags up a error and cant save the model
please see image attached
hope some can shed some light on this
thanks
Assembly model scale
Hi,
I would like to change the model scale of a whole assembly (Creo2)
Model \ Operations \ scale Model
> entering a scale value (1.5)
> confirmation (Yes)
This don't have any effect. So we have to change scale part after part.
Then, if this operation is not possible on an assembly, strange to see this option is available in assembly mode.
Is there any manner to do this ?
Thanks,
Copy parameter in Mapkey won't work after re-booting Creo
Hello,
I have tried to record a Mapkey in which I want to copy a specific parameter of a selected component in a assembly. The steps are:
-> right mouse click
-> Edit Parameters
-> left mouse clik on the wanted parameter value
-> Edit menu
-> Copy
-> close parameters window
Here below a video of the mapkey record:
The Mapkey works if I run it in the session where it has been recorded, with other components and other assemblies too, but doesn't work when I restart (after having saved it obviously) Creo, as if there is something in the recording related to a specific session (but that I can't see from the config.pro). (Also, the parameter whose to copy the value is present is every assembly and part we have).
Anyone can tell what is it due to and if there is something I can modify in the mapkey config.pro code to make it working forever?
(Here below the code I recorded (where codice_disegno is the parameter name):
mapkey 7 ~ Timer `UI Desktop` `UI Desktop` `popupMenuRMBTimerCB`;\
mapkey(continued) ~ Close `rmb_popup` `PopupMenu`;~ Activate `rmb_popup` `EditParameters`;\
mapkey(continued) ~ Arm `relation_dlg` `ParamsPHLay.ParTable` 2 `rowCODICE_DISEGNO` `value`;\
mapkey(continued) ~ Disarm `relation_dlg` `ParamsPHLay.ParTable` 2 `rowCODICE_DISEGNO` `value`;\
mapkey(continued) ~ Select `relation_dlg` `ParamsPHLay.ParTable` 2 `rowCODICE_DISEGNO` `value`;\
mapkey(continued) ~ Select `relation_dlg` `MenuBar1` 1 `Edit`;\
mapkey(continued) ~ Close `relation_dlg` `MenuBar1`;~ Activate `relation_dlg` `PBCopy`;\
mapkey(continued) ~ Close `relation_dlg` `relation_dlg`;
(I am trying to record this mapkey to then use it to open a selected component drawing with the help of an external software and it would be much more useful to have the copy value inside Creo).
thanks

Does any API exists in toolkit to automate process of removing surface?
Manual steps are
1. Select surface to be removed
2. Go to editing tab
3. Click on remove
4. Press OK to proceed
Problems when trying to get the G-code on PTC Creo Manufacturing
Basic - basic

How do I set the paths for the default Common Folders? System Tables, User Tables, System Formats, Pro Library etc? These appear in the Open dialog in different permutations depending upon what you are trying to add. There used to be on called Templates that worked for us but it disappeared in M090....
And yes, I know I can RMB on a folder and select "Add to Common Folders" but I want this as a config option so I can distribute it to all users at once.
TIA
Module Works was Right!!
I had a part with 4 of the same cuts in it so I programmed the first 1 then Mirrored it to the second third and 4th location then ran play path and everything cut fine. I then ran Module works and it showed the cut cutting outside of the windowed cut so I turned in a case about module work showing gouges or collisions where play path didn't. I started a support case#13023191 where Module Works gouges and play path doesn't

I wasn't sure which to trust. So now the issue goes to why is play path not showing the proper tool path?
Create a image that you can rotate with help of a CAD assembly
Hello how do i create an image that you can rotate and look at The product from different sides? Often used at webpages. Here is an exanple:
http://lh-camera.dk/en/products/underwater-video-camera/hd-underwater-video-camera/
You can here rotate the image of the camera?
Can you do this with an cad file?
Cyclic Symmetry issues
Hi,
I'm running into issues trying to run a cyclic symmetry analysis on one part of a large disk - whenever I try to mesh the model, it returns the following error:
The requested shape change invalidates the Cyclic Symmetry
constraints associated with the highlighted geometry. Delete
these constraints if the requested shape change is required.
Source: AutoGEM
What shape change is this referring to, and why does that invalidate the constraint?
The model I'm working with is cut into pieces at a slight angle - so the faces selected for cyclic symmetry are not perpendicular to the 'front' face of the disk model. Would this cause an issue?
Thanks

Strain Vector Results - Hide Opposite side of model vectors?
Good Afternoon,
Anyone have a idea of how to hide the strain vectors in the model that are not on the surfaces that you are directly looking at?
I know you can isolate by selecting individual surfaces, but this is very time consuming,
It would be nice to have the option to only view the surface strain vectors on the surfaces that's directly being viewed.
Thanks,

Sheetmetal - Create flat pattern instance is greyed out???
Hi
I have a standalone sheetmetal part in session. I want to create a flat pattern instance. In Wildfire 4, this was achieved by using the setup/flat pattern utility which prompted the user with a default name for the flat pattern instance.
I cannot duplicate this command in Creo 2. The Create Flat pattern Instance is greyed out and can't be used
Wire harness drawings?
I was just wondering if anyone out there is currently making wiring harness drawings without using Pro/Cabling? I work in a small engineering group and we don't have access to Pro/Cabling at the moment, but we have a need to make a few simple harness drawings. Right now we are either importing DXF data from previous harness drawings or creating everything from scratch with the sketcher in Creo 2 (very frustrating). Basically, I'm trying to figure out if there is any easier way to do it the hard way?
Adding and linking cells with each drawing sheet
Is there a way to create a repeat region that creates a table column every time a sheet is added to the drawing? We have drawings that are multiple pages and it is very time consuming to add the "rev" column for every sheet on each drawing I make. Additionally, is it possible to have those cells linked to a text box on separate drawing sheets so that I can type in a single rev on the drawing and have it update the status on sheet 1?
Get the geometry representation from PTC Creo Parametric using object toolkit
Hi guys,
My goal is to get geometry representation from an active part in PTC Creo Parametric.
I'm parsing User Guide.In section "21 Geometry Evaluation" I found following methods:
• pfcModelItemOwner::ListItems
• pfcSurface::ListContours
• pfcContour::ListElements
At the end of the day, I got the list of edges. The next step in my head is to cast an edge into specific type of the curve it represents: Line, Arc, BSpline.
I wrote following code:
auto line = pfcLine::cast(edge); // << exception appears here
if (line)
{
cout<< "line"<<endl;
}
My problem is this code isn't executed. It throws an exception (First-chance exception at 0x00007FFC9D711F28 in CreoAddIn.exe: Microsoft C++ exception: xthrowable at memory location 0x0000001B916FDF48.)
In the User Guide it's said: "To determine what type of curve a pfcEdge or pfcCurve object represents, use the PTC Creo Object TOOLKIT C++ instanceof operator."
But I couldn't find any kind of such operator anywhere in API(neither in headers nor in API docs). So I decided to cast an edge to every type and check resulting pointer: is it equal to nullptr.
My plan was to cast an edge to corresponding curve type, get control points and\or other useful info from it.
So, can you please provide me with an advice, how to cast an edge in the correct manner?
Thank you in advance,
Artem
Silent install of Creo 2.0 m100 not working
So I installed Creo 2.0 m100 on my local machine, copied the xml files creobase.p.xml, pma.p.xml, and portmapper.p.xml (mks is also installed but I could not find an xml file for it so this may be the cause of it not installing) and then made a bat file that says: setup.exe -xml creabose.p.xml -xml pma.p.xml -xml portmapper.p.xml and placed the xml files and the bat file in the folder where we house our setup file.
When I run the bat file though, it prompts me to install (I know because an admin prompt comes up) then hangs for about 1 min (if that) and the command prompt window closes but nothing installs. Am I missing something?
