I go to the "learning exchange" but when I look for a subject it takes me to Creo. I have pro-e 5.0 and need to find tutorials for help. Can anyone suggest suggest anything, even Youtube doesn't have much on Pro-e
Where can I get pro-e tutorials
What is the correct and appropriate way to make a spur gear with equation?
Dear Creo Users,
What is the correct and appropriate way or method to create a correct spur gear. There are many tutorials or videos regarding this. But they provide sometimes different formulas. Which are the correct formula or is there any ideal way to make gear with equation and with the help of creo relations and parameter? How can I make spur gear with the help of relations and parameter option in creo?Any ideas, methods or tutorial videos or discussions regarding spur gear creation with equation will be very helpful.

Can I automatically create first and third angle projection symbol in creo drawing?
Dear Creo users,
I have been trying to create first and third angle projection symbol in creo drawing. I have tried to sketch the symbol using sketch option in creo drawing. But is there any other way that I can automatically insert it in the drawing that means if creo has the symbol of first and third angle projection inbuilt in software or not? Is sketching the symbols is the correct way to show it in the drawing format?

JavaScript / JSON Interface?!
Good Day All...
We have been developing a highly optimized interface to Pro/ENGINEER / CREO that uses JLINK (and can also support Pro/TOOLKIT) for many years - it is the core library of our commercial offerings like Nitro-CELL, Nitro-PROGRAM, and Nitro-BOM.
The current code base is a Java Library that can be included in a Java application to directly communicate with Pro/E / CREO asynchronously (control Pro/E / CREO externally - not as a registered application on startup - connects on the fly). While we have some specialized applications running headless automations for some of our customers using the library directly, most of our code uses a micro-server to handle all the bi-directional traffic to/from CREO for us.
The micro-server basically internet/network-enables an interface to Pro/E / CREO - but is often used on the same machine as the application talking to it.
We have been thinking about implementing a NEW "JSON" layer to the micro-server that would allow ANY language to communicate and run our optimized JLINK interface remotely.
The simplest implementation would be JavaScript in my view. For a couple of reasons.
1 - tight, efficient and readable code
2 - easy to learn for people new to programming or seasoned pros
3 - LOTs of code out there as examples
4 - active community for help
5 - Node.js as an application framework and service is very popular and easy to use (stand alone applications, web and socket applications and services)
6 - Office 2016/365 is embracing javascript more every day.
7 - There are a lot of libraries and packages available for it...
8 - it is fast, flexible, extensible and cool.
An example of this could be as simple as this:
var requestObj = {
action : "open",
parameters : {
name : "box.prt"
display : true
}
}
creoClient(requestObj);
But -- IF (big IF) we build a JSON interface, this would be able to be used by ANY language that supports JSON.... Visual Basic, .NET, C#, Java, etc, etc. etc. So we feel this would be a good option for anyone - regardless of development preferences
Please respond with any thoughts or interests in this. Not looking to "sell" this -- it is an interesting idea as a starting point.
Thanks in advance.
Expand All
Hi
Is there any possible way to delete or move this option "Expand All" from this model tree menu?
I constantly work with very large assemblys, and it happens a lot, when i want to collapse all features, i miss the button and end clicking on "Expand All"
This results on long waits, sometimes 5 minutes or more before i can continue working
Thanks!
Creo running slowly on Dell XPS 15
I have a Dell XPS 15 9550 (4k screen) and when I open the 2017 FRC field or other large models, Creo runs slowly. Specifically, rotating, translating, and zooming run at 2-3 fps. My laptop has both an Intel graphics 530 and an Nvidia GTX 960M. Creo is running with DPI scaling enabled in Windows compatibility settings (so it's running at less than 4k, though running Creo at 4k makes no difference). I have tried explicitly setting Creo to use the Nvidia GPU and the Intel GPU in my Nvidia control panel (restarting Creo both times) and I get exactly the same performance, even though it's clear through HWMonitor that the settings are in effect. Creo display options are default (I just installed Creo Parametric M110 today, but this was happening on M070 too). When using the Nvidia GPU, utilization is around 15%. Is there some setting in Creo that may be causing this?
Why don't have all tabs available in my free PTC?
hole transfer in CREO 4.0
I currently use CREO 2.0 and was wondering if hole transfer from one part to a mating part is any easier in the new CREO 4.0? If you have a lot of holes to transfer from one plate to a mating plate, it is a real chore!
Thanks,
David
Thickening surfaces problem
Hi all,
I've just finished building the main surfaces for the mouse I'm building but I'm having issues thickening the bottom and middle parts into solids. If anyone has any idea what the problem is I'd appreciate the help. See attached.
The model is created in the student edition of 3.0 unfortunately which I realise can't be opened in the real version.
Tools to improve Design for Manufacturability
Wondering what others are doing to help their engineers and designers achieve better design for manufacturability as new products are developed. Like many companies, we have a lot of tribal knowledge and conduct cross-functional design reviews to vet new designs and try to address issues before they get too far long the design development lifecycle (where they become more time consuming and expensive to address). But we'd like to achieve better consistency / repeatability and push this earlier into the design development process. The question is, what methods and tools are successfully being used? Electronic knowlegebase / lessons learned database or design element checklists? Tools within Creo like Model Check (with a custom library of do and don't rules)? Add-ons like DFMPro from Geometric? Are you doing something in gated processes within your PLM system to verify these tasks have been completed and capturing the results? How is this knowledge being communicated as new-hires are brought up to speed? How is all of this being managed to ensure accuracy and keep it current as new manufacturing capabilities are brought online or old rules become obsolete?

Creo work space manager not showing/saving/opening .SEC file
Helllo,
I have .SEC file in Agile PLM, Load to CAD is not downloading the file in CREO worspace manager and so its not opening.
The same file, i can download separately (like a normal file )and able to open in creo. Is that some issue with cero workspace manager ? How to fix this.

Anyway to Delete Many Artifacts from Central Catalog Quickly
Hello everyone,
This is my first post so excuse my mistakes if I make any.
I built my central catalog off of the sample design so that I could use some of the prebuilt artifacts. The issue is that there are a lot of artifacts that I will never use and I want to delete them from my catalog explorer in my master catalog design. I want to do this so that when I am loading the central catalog the load times are much faster. I am using CREO 2.0, but have access to 3.0. Is there anyway from within the master catalog design catalog explorer to delete a lot of artifacts at once? If not then I have to delete each artifact shape and then delete the artifact, which would be really really slow. Below is a picture of the catalog explorer. For example I want to delete all of the HVAC conditioning artifacts.
Thanks!
How to create a Coordinate System in Assembly mode using VB.NET in CREO-2.0
Hai,
I am working on an customization project in CREO. Currently i am facing an issue to how to create few coordinate system's using the default CSYS available in the assembly mode.
When i went through the VB.API document i found few API'S which can be used to create CSYS. But as i am new to this i am not able to pass values to this API'S
I am listing those API'S here if any body has used any of these please guide me in this.
IpfcCoordSysFeat.OffsetType
EpfcDTMCSYS_OFFSET_CARTESIAN
EpfcDTMCSYS_MOVE_TRAN_X, EpfcDTMCSYS_MOVE_TRAN_Y, and
EpfcDTMCSYS_MOVE_TRAN_Z or EpfcDTMCSYS_MOVE_ROT_X, EpfcDTMCSYS_MOVE_ROT_Y, and
EpfcDTMCSYS_MOVE_ROT_Z

Half section line missing in my drawing - Creo 2.0
Hi all,
I have a simple drawing in Creo 2.0 of a cylinder which is half sectioned along it's centreline. If I create a detailed view of an end, then the half section line dis-appears. This never used to be the case - any idea what's happened and how I can get it back?
Image attached to illustrate my point.
grille pattern with round enclosure
Hello,
I'm trying to model a grille as shown on the left side of the added picture, but Creo 2.0 gives me the one on the right side.
Any ideas on how to make this happen?
This is a sheet metal part, because the plate is curved. If it were just a solid a would add an extra extrude to fill the excess, but that doesn't work in sheet metal.
Thanks,
Robbie.
Two pin connections in series w
Hello!
I am trying to assemble a mechanical device that contains one body (an axle, body A) that is free to rotate in relation to ground and then on this body there is a new body (a ring, body B) that is free to rotate in relation to the first body but with its axis coincident with the first axis.
My idea to model this was to constrain body A with a pin connection to ground and then constrain the body B to the first with a new pin connection. I am allowed to do this but it doesn't behave as expected because when I try to drag the body B around its axis on A it to starts to rotate around its own axis to ground so that both rotates in relation to ground. I understand that this behavior doesn't contradict the connections but it is still odd behavior and when performing a dynamic simulation later I don't want the extra mass of B to effect the inertia of A.
Do anyone know why it behaves like this and if there is anyway around it?
Kind Regards

How is Creo 4 transition going?
I have Creo 4 installed and have looked at a few things but haven't yet been brave enough to lose reverting back to Creo 3 if things have gone south.
For those brave enough to dive in how is the experience going? Have you ran into any crippling bugs?
From what I've seen so far it is looking somewhat promising. I like some of the changes in the sketcher and I like the ability to extrude starting from somewhere besides the starting plane.
Chamfer call out shown dimension
When I create a shown dimension for a chamfer in a drawing the leader seem to be fixed to an angle or its created with the Normal Leader Option. Is there a way to change it ? so that I could change it to Standard Leader Option ?
